There's a growing understanding that one key way to safeguard our long-term health is by keeping unhealthy chemicals out of our homes...whether that be in the food we are eating, the personal care products and cosmetics we use on our bodies, or the products we use for cleaning.
In 2012, when SimplyClean launched in Australia, there was already a number of eco cleaning products available, of varying levels of authenticity (and there still are) but the focus on human-healthy cleaning was pretty much neglected.
The inspiration behind SimplyClean was to provide a healthier alternative.
With SimplyClean the health benefits are two-fold
We wanted to introduce a toxin free and sensitiser free cleaning range completely free of irritating chemicals to provide relief for all the people out there who have any kind of skin sensitivity or allergy.
We also wanted to provide an alternative for people who, like many of us, are concerned about the carcinogenic and other hazardous effects that daily exposure to harmful chemicals used in the home can have on our long term health.
In essence, we've eliminated toxic chemicals in cleaning products, with SimplyClean.
Choosing safer ingredients
We assess the health safeness of all SimplyClean ingredients using reputable national and International sources, including:
- The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Monologues: Substances are classified as cancer causing or suspect. Published lists for Group 1, 2a and 2b.
- The Asthma Foundation: Respiratory irritants.
- Suzuki Dirty Dozen and Nasty Nine: Eminent environmental scientist Dr David Suzuki’s review of chemicals and ingredients that should not be used in cosmetics.
- EWG: Environmental Working Group's cleaning ingredients database.
What we leave out
All SimplyClean products are toxin free and sensitiser free. We want to help you have a safer home for your family. No asthma irritants or skin sensitisers. No nasties or concerning chemicals like SLS, SLES, parabens, mineral oils or diethanolamides, all commonly found in everyday cleaning products.
SimplyClean hand and body washes suit the whole family, from very young to very old. Our cleaning products are healthy too, as many come into contact with your skin, your kitchen bench, food utensils and are in the air and are used in the places where your kids play.
