Our star ingredient Lemon Myrtle Oil is fresh, lemony and uplifting

Locally harvested and produced lemon myrtle oil is the star ingredient in much of our SimplyClean range. Its unique fragrance appeals to almost everyone; fresh, distinctively lemony and uplifting. Perfect for your home.

The official name for the lemon myrtle tree is backhousia citriodora (named after the English botanist, James Backhouse in 1853) and other common names of this medium sized tree are sweet verbena tree, sweet verbena myrtle, lemon scented verbena and lemon scented backhousia.

A natural germ killer

Apart from smelling absolutely beautiful, lemon myrtle oil is also naturally antibacterial and antifungal. Research by Charles Sturt University* showed that lemon myrtle oil is a better antibacterial and antifungal agent than tea-tree oil, a well-known natural topical antiseptic.

And anecdotally, lemon myrtle used around the home has been shown to reduce the incidence of minor ailments such as colds and coughs.

SimplyClean’s native lemon myrtle oil is grown and produced in the hills around our factory, in the subtropical Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, near Byron Bay, and its quality and purity are guaranteed.
