Be Clean and Green and Help our Koalas

Published by Huw Jones on 15th Aug 2017

Every time you buy a Simplyclean product we donate five cents to the Lismore-based Friends of the Koala to help look after sick and injured koalas.

At Simplyclean, we really want to put our money where our mouth is and make a tangible contribution to the work of this great local organisation.

Our business is fundamentally based on the need for environmental responsibility and in creating products that work effectively without doing any harm to people or living creatures, so being in a position to sponsor the local koala population who are themselves under threat from environmental harm is a natural fit for us.We also use Australian grown plant fragrances in our products and pride ourselves on being uniquely Australian; and there’s not many things more uniquely Australian than a Koala.

Many of our staff actively volunteer at the Koala Care Centre so it makes our support even more personal. And of course we also donate all our beautiful Simplyclean cleaning products to keep the Centre spotless!

Friends of the Koala is a northern rivers based organisation that rescues, rehabilitates and then releases injured and ill koalas. The group is also committed to the reduction of koala habitat removal, as well as education and advocacy. Working with a volunteer base of about 130 people, The Friends of the Koala have brought into care nearly 4,500 koalas and distributed more than 134,000 koala food trees across the Northern Rivers.

Lorraine Vass, past President from Friends of the Koala, said “It’s wonderful to be receiving support from a Lismore based business and to know that our work is appreciated locally. As an unfunded organisation we rely 100 per cent on our own fundraising initiatives. This support means that we can focus more on our core business of fighting for our local koala population and their ongoing survival, and less on raising funds. We sincerely thank Simplyclean for their generosity, where every product sold represents a bonus for us.”

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work.
